No-code Frameworks: The Future of App Development

What is No-Code?

No-code frameworks are software design systems that allow to execute software without composing a line of code.

These tools usually have a user-friendly interface and drag-and-drop capabilities, allowing you to envision the implementation process and describe the overall business logic with ease.

A no-code framework is a programming platform that uses a visual development interface to enable users to build applications by dragging and dropping software components to create a full app. Users do not need any previous coding experience to build applications using no-code.

Why use no-code?

'First principle thinking' is important in every aspect of life. You should have strong reasoning as to why you are using a certain technology to build something?

These are the few things you should consider before choosing a no-code platform for developing web-application –

  • Is platform good for my MVP?

  • Will I be able to build the features I want?

  • Is platform dependable and will it get long term support?

  • Does it have all important plugins?

  • Is the platform secure and is my data stored safely?

  • I need to use a specific integration with my app. Will I be able to do that on the platform?

Experience using no-code

Bubble’s no-code app builder gives app developers a visual set of components to assemble and launch fully functioning end products. The abundance of options for functional customization makes Bubble a powerful tool for software development and building apps.

Instead of watching content and learning about bubble platform, I decided to jump directly and get hands-on experience. When I logged on to the Bubble io there was a small platform tour which showed all the different functionalities of the platform.

There is a help section which has a short video explanation of each component with an example, which really helped me to start implementing features in the MVP. Bubble has a strong backend which can handle a lot of backend processes like Sign in, User Registration, Email verification, Logout etc. Which is helpful as it lets you work on the other prominent features.

Though Bubble is new the ever-growing community is plus point, whenever I was stuck the community came to my rescue.

Future of no code

Earlier no-code could be used only to help with wireframes and prototypes, but Modern no-code applications are capable of building entire web applications with drag-drop functionality, which are even scalable up to thousands of users.

The latest developments in no-code have reached a point where a web application or website can be built without writing a single line of code and yet the output is comparable to a small team of developers.

The true potential of no-code is just getting unlocked with big companies like Google getting into this space – The future is not far away where there will be a shift to no-code technology for building an MVP
